Rain on Holy Thursday

This will be a very short blog entry, indeed.

I had planned to show you last night's Procesión de la Sagrada Cena (Procession of the Last Supper.)
However, as I've mentioned over the past few days, processions are dependent on good, at least dry, weather.  Unfortunately, it rained last night.

The paso depicting the Last Supper is massive, and must be moved on wheels.  Unfortunately, because of rain Thursday night, it never left the tent where it was prepared for display. (You can click on photographs in this blog for a larger view.  Use the "escape" or "esc" key to return to a normal view.
This photograph is from 2016.  Had the weather held, it would have looked something like this.
Another view of the Last Supper paso from 2016.  Christ and all twelve apostles are depicted.  This paso dates from 1950 and was created by Victor de los Rios.

Crowds with their umbrellas head out of the city center after the cancellation of the procession on Holy Thursday.

If you've been following my blog, you know that I'm scheduled to march and help carry a paso in Good Friday's Procession of the Seven Words of Christ on the Cross.  I'll tell you about my experience in tomorrow's entry.
